Three
out of four people will be troubled by back pain
at some stage of their adult life. In most cases
the cause is unknown despite many different theories.
It’s important to keep in mind that many of our
back problems, although painful, are minor and will
correct themselves with the passage of time. And
fortunately most back pain responds well to a variety
of non- surgical treatments and rarely does back
pain require surgery.
It’s often said that ‘different things work for
different people’ and it’s our good fortune that
we are now living in a time when the wisdom of many
different cultures and philosophies is available
to us. We suggest you check out the following options
from the conventional or traditional approach, and
in contrast, the natural or complementary approach.
Descriptions compiled by Editor Felicity Wood (non medical practitioner –
but chronic pain sufferer) from Government Health Authorities,
representative Alternative Medicine Associations and Natural
Therapy Teaching Centers.
